Tesla offers blended braking (regen when pressing the brake pedal)

I doubt Tesla is switching to true brake-by-wire, where the brake pedal is just an electronic pressure sensor (like the failed Mercedes/Bosch system in the early 2000s). Their blended braking likely does require new hydraulics sensors and hardware. It needs a way to 1) sense brake pedal pressure...

US: "Senate Republicans Propose $1000 Tax on EVs to Fund Road Repair" - article

53,000 early deaths per year in the US from vehicle emissions. They should be tripling the tax on ICE vehicles instead!

[North America] - FAQ: the ultimate guide to the Porsche EVSE PMC+/PMCC/PWCC

I posted elsewhere but wanted to add this to this thread. I checked my VIN at https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and it is now showing the APB6 cable as a vehicle recall, not an equipment recall, and showing "Recall Incomplete" in red for my car, with suggestions on how to complain further. In...

[North America] - FAQ: the ultimate guide to the Porsche EVSE PMC+/PMCC/PWCC

Thanks for that. So actually, it seems Porsche is blaming cheap wall sockets and not the PMCC or the 10AWG cabling at all. I'm sort of on board with that. My PMCC runs cool enough in a Hubble socket. There are lots of cases where 14-50 plugs burned up on other brand EVSEs on a cheap wall socket...

[North America] - FAQ: the ultimate guide to the Porsche EVSE PMC+/PMCC/PWCC

I have the long car side cable option for the PMCC. This was delivered with a 2022. Mine appears to be 3-Conductor, 10AWG (5.3mm). See photo. My short wall side 14-50 cable is on the recall parts list. It has 4 Conductors, 10AWG (5.26mm). Ground shouldn't be conducting anything, so mine appear...

[North America] - FAQ: the ultimate guide to the Porsche EVSE PMC+/PMCC/PWCC

Sorry if this has been covered, but looking at this post from daveo4EV back in 2020 can someone explain how the 10AWG plug side of the PMCC gets so hot (162F!), but the 10AWG car side cable does not (89F)? They have roughly the same amps and volts.
