I'll second I-Pace and throw in the Audi E-Tron GT (the sister car). Yes same basics but different in tuning and interior/infotainment. It has a few quirks (some parallel to Porsche) but my experience with Audi overall has been positive over the years.
Except charging stations can be "self reporting" or remotely monitored, or can have "report" features from consumers (which most do) when they don't work. Its more about having a serious maintenance/repair division to quickly resolve issues (which at least EA doesn't seem to have or really care,).
I don’t personally care about PC vs non-PC, but I do care about accuracy, fact and data vs propaganda, misinformation and fear generating hype to push a political viewpoint. Don’t care which end of the spectrum it comes from. This smacks of the latter to me anyway.
Just my 2 cents.
To me this reads like a very biased and sensational article, not at all backed by the actual statements and ideas. I see nothing about eliminating private ownership of anything. It didn't sound right from this post, so I had to read it. Sheesh.
P.S. One of the MANY purposeful misstatements in...
Great article, lots of good points. Sadly it also said the following (which is not surprising):
”Unlike gas stations, which almost always have at least one working pump, charging stations have a reliability problem. Earlier this year, Plug In America did a survey of over 3,500 EV drivers and...
I am sorry but I will stop reading a review that is FACTUALLY incorrect, makes you question the rest of the article. "You are looking at the least efficient fully electric vehicle currently produced today, period,"
Total BS, I own a few and the Taycan is currently the MOST efficient of the ones...
except you said it yourself. Other manufacturers implement robust monitoring to force the driver to lay attention, while Tesla almost purposefully makes it trivial to NOT pay attention and calls it “autopilot.” Its a sick game of wink and nudge but played with the lives of others. Just to look cool.
General comment about ANC (not Tesla in particular): its a cool technology, but it ain’t magic. Its pumping energy into a cabin trying to exactly cancel another wave of energy. It is never perfect, can’t work broadly in space and may not be worth it. Its a little bit like that great like from...
I have owned a Bolt, and it’s an EV I would get again and one that I highly recommend for its price, performance, pleasant drive and relatively well laid out cabin (yes it’s cheap materials but aesthetically just fine).
let’s put it this way, you couldn’t get me to buy either BMW new I EVs at...
As an i8 (current) and i3 (past) owner I have to agree. Then say why did you get rid of the i8? I plan to keep mine until it falls apart. In fact I went from the coupe to the Roadster when it finally came out. Its the only car that I truly consider unique in so many ways.
I wanted to mainly say...
I came to say this essentially. I think the Plaid is a good upgrade for Tesla and yes, they will build and release in a much quicker cycle than traditional companies. This helps them get there quicker and it also shows in the build quality and other longer term issues.
For example I am...
Seconded. FWIW I generally five EV communities to be much more friendly, ”mature” and informative than the ICE counterparts. Maybe the ICE ones have much more road rage from the constant noise and fumes…
:like::)
I have to say no matter how many times I’ve looked and driven modern Tesla’s I just couldn’t do it. The Model S and X are just INSANELY expensive for what is a budget car interior (forgetting how numb they are to drive). The BASE model 3 is a good value proposition FOR AN EV (not an ICE), at...
You may already know this but there’s a setting where you can turn off the eco-setting for Aircon in range mode. I use range mode but do not use the efficiency air conditioning in range mode.
I have to say the Bolt in sone ways is my favorite daily EV driver. the price, performance, efficiency...
I seriously hope this is some kind of random fluke. I personally am pretty confident in the general battery tech, precautions, and designs of EV batteries, including Tesla. So hopefully this is just a flike and not indicative of some kind of issue with the new cars. Its just too weird to have...
Besides all the other points, and the fact that to me the drive of the Tesla is well, boring, there is always this. Tesla is always overselling what they do, and push the car past what I would say the normal limits to "show off." While the Taycan to me is a drivers car, and all the components...
