I am a bit surprised that you, TC Fan, switch to a Lucid, if you expect the overall experience to be better than for the Taycan. I had the opportunity to visit the Lucid facilities in the Bay Area and talk to one of their senior engineers who had worked on the Model S at Tesla. From this and the...
I once test-drove the AM Vantage V8 because I liked the design very much. But my impression was that "it had no motor". Maybe the V12 is better?
But even then, a Taycan GTS is a GTS...
I had this MiG-29 hanging on my wall, where it had a deserving place after I flew and repaired it for so many times. But after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, I couldn't bear to see it anymore.
I have two more MiG-29, one is in Czech colours. I am undecided yet about the other one.
The i4 seems quite good... if you could actually get one. We have had one on order at my company since quite a while. We just got a delivery date update: June 20_23_. Ouch.
I tried the i8 as I really liked the design and wanted to like the car. I took it to the Autobahn to 250, but I could not get over the impression/fact that "it has no engine". They should have put a large engine and large wheels on the thing, and it would have sold many more units, I think...
Too many that I only remember but don't do... in a year like 2020, getting the business through Covid and keeping the family happy dominated everything.
But I like to tinker with these jets. They are not expensive and allow endless ways of setting them up differently, tuning them or trying new...
I think the Rivian is very beautiful and I like the 7 seats, but my guess is it will take long to be available and supported in Germany. And personally I have doubts about the wheel hub motors and their longevity.
Edit: I learned from the posts below that they are *not* hub motors - good!
Keep in mind that a fuel cell car is an electric vehicle. It just doesn't have a big battery as an energy source, but a hydrogen tank and the fuel cell.
So, "from the motor up", most is the same anyway.
Cheers,
Henrik
Hello,
whenever I experimentally switch back from the T to my Corvette, it feels as if the Corvette has fallen out of time. I mean, the C7 is actually a quite amazing car with a great rumbling V8, but still, when coming from the electric car, it feels as if the C7 is kaputt, I find myself...
Very true. I had a Porsche 718 from my dealer while they did the current Taycan upgrades. The 718 looks nice, corners nice, yes. But it feels like it has no motor, compared to the Taycan. And once accustomed to the quietness and acceleration of the 4S, normal sports cars that rattle and stink...
That is pretty good. In the future, I'd also like to be able to charge two cars in parallel. But this will have to wait: I don't know of a 6-person-family EV except maybe Tesla, but don't like their design. Plus, it would have to be the size of a V-class. I hope that the VW bus will be worth the...
Here: A 22kW charger will supposedly be installed this month. The unit has already been delivered to the installation company, all we need is a installation date.
It took special permission from the utility operator. Usually, the maximum that can be installed is a 11kW unit. But I wanted to be...
