I have a whole post on my move from a Taycan to an i4 M50 if you search my post history. It's about as unbiased and in depth as you'll find.
One thing I'm a bit confused on.. the i4 is roomier than the Taycan, so I think there might have been a perception bias when you sat in it. It is smaller...
Driving dynamics? The Panamera isn't in the same class as the Taycan. It's really nice for a big car but the Taycan isn't even in the "for a big car" category it's just exceptional as a sports car.
I actually traded in my Taycan 4S for an i4 M50.
Is the Taycan a better sportscar? Absolutely. Are the overall materials nicer? Yes, although the i4 is quite nice at the pricepoint.
But.. the i4 M50 is really nice to drive, more comfortable than the Taycan, and the technology is worlds better...
Ugly, ugly car but I'm hyped that they got such range out of it! Stuff like this forces other manufacturer's to up their games and it's just good all around for EV owners.
Speaking of Rivian cancelations, if anyone has a LE or 2018/2019 Rivian reservation they are going to cancel.. send me a message first. Willing to buy it from you (confirmed okay by Rivian.)
My notes from an hour with a Mach E GT today.
I personally found the infotainment much worse. Leggy and awkward to use. Hate the climate controls compared to my Taycan. Funny how people have different views. Hated the dash.
I was impressed with the overall interior, the materials and...
Oh that actually helps a lot!
Yeah, it's rough over there. Certainly starting to sway me into just waiting for the electric Macan, but the offroad aspect appeals to me to an extent.
So I am planning on getting an R1S but oh boy, if you guys think this forum is a bunch of fanboys go check that out. Beyond Tesla level. I probably have to stop even looking at that forum because it's a huge turnoff to the brand.
The Taycan is one of the most efficient EVs based on real world testing, so the article is complete bs.
The iPace & eTron are both MUCH MUCH less efficient. Teslas are about the same as the Taycan, but some have a larger battery.
Cars with battery packs below 70 kWh are useless for any ranged...
You're concerned about the Taycan's software "issues" and you're thinking of buying the first car from a brand new company instead?
Mmkay, good luck.
The following for Lucid & Rivian have incredibly unrealistic expectations for those two cars. Expect both to have some real growing pains, in...
The Lucid is one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. I don't care if it drives exactly like a 911 and has twice the range of a Taycan, I'd never be caught in the driver seat of one.
Also exactly zero of the other "reviews" I've seen have shared his enthusiasm for the handling.
So far everything I've seen is exactly what I expected, it's a quintessential Audi. Fast, fairly good looking if a bit cookie cutter, fairly nice tech, capable but bland driving performance.
And I don't mean that as an insult.. Audis are probably the most solid buy for someone that has a family...
As mentioned above, baking in a rollout to a 0-60 time is industry standard. Some are more transparent about it but almost everyone does it.
Even if it wasn't, I wouldn't consider it too sketchy to include a rollout for an EV vs an ICE. As we all know, a 3.5 second EV is really a lot faster...
The things you listed as a frustration with the Tesla can all occur with the Taycan, depending on the dealership.
The thing you listed that you love about the Tesla is much worse on the Taycan.
I think you should stick with a Tesla or look at some of the other EVs coming out that are more tech...
The EQS will not have "better range" than the Taycan, it will have a "bigger battery" which will absolutely make it drive like a boat. Efficiency will likely be almost the exact same. Range claims mean nothing, every company except Porsche drastically overstates the range of their EVs.. Porsche...
I strongly dislike the interior. Never been a big fan of Audi interiors and this one in particular just looks ugly to me.
And say what you will about physical buttons but it looks much nicer without them.
I just don't agree at all that VAG is badge engineering with Audi & Porsche. I think there's a clear differentiation between even cars with the same platforms. For example, other than looking vaguely related, a Q5 and Macan are just nothing alike.
I think that'll be the same case with the eTron...
