There is no other EV I will drive. I put my $$ behind my forum words. I had a MY21 and when the time came to decide what to replace it with - the research, test drives, offers and other factors brought me back the Taycan. I could not bear the thought of driving another overall inferior EV. For...
Timely post! I just finished a meeting with my Porsche BA. I was exploring an option to release my highly spec'd MY21 Taycan RWD for essentially the time remaining on my lease (3 months remaining) plus 9 months. I was given preliminary numbers about six weeks ago and while not great, it was...
While this looks like an unjustified tax grab, it really is a fair solution to a growing problem.
NJ uses bonds to maintain, repair and improve its roads. The bonds are repaid using the tax imposed on gasoline and diesel. If fuel tax revenues fall below certain pre-determined thresholds, the...
Take your pick:
any industry connected with fossil fuel.
any group concerned about cobalt mining and the exploitation of minors
journalists upset about their charging experience
independent folks who don't want the government in their lives mandating what to drive
climate change deniers...
My lease is also due to end in August. I love my Taycan, but the model's current price point and follow on depreciation is just not worth the money, IMO. My front running choice today is the BMW I4 RWD for the following reasons:
Very well spec'd its MSRP is about $55k-$60K less than a similarly...
My early adoption days are one and done. I will replace my Taycan and ICE SUV at some point. When I do, it will be with one vehicle. When this occurs reliability will be my first priority, Gen 1 of any EV is out of the question, especially from VWAG at this point.
Here is my take as a long time Porsche enthusiast:
1) I have absolutely disliked the styling of the Panamera of the last 10 years
2) I never understood the reason for the car
3) Now, that I am older I have become more interested
4) Porsche understands its market - much like "cradle to grave"...
Interestingly, I read the responses to the OP's post. Having owned several 911's and a current GT3 owner, I think I am qualified to opine!
The Taycan is great vehicle, truthfully I look forward to getting in to it everyday as my DD. It still excites me, more so than any 911 I have ever owned on...
Can't blame them when PCNA charges $3,358 for a standard windshield replacement with no HUD.
Before that little incident, I was 100% going to purchase my Taycan at lease end. Unless I can secure a decent post lease purchase warranty, it makes no sense. The cost to repair and replace parts...
I have owned two 991 911's and currently own a 991 GT3 since 2014, along with my Taycan.
Cost of ownership:
The 911 assuming only routine maintenance (Taycan is too new to know long term costs) is comparable to the Taycan, with the exception of oil and filter changes (air and oil). Additional...
Wow, a nerve was struck! Hopefully, we will all get over it. If I recall, many a co-founder/founder were mired in litigation to determine who founded/controlled a venture.
Until I know for sure he is off his med's, I am with him. He founded Tesla, SpaceX. Boring Co. & X.com, the last two eventually became part of Paypal. He marches to the beat of a different drummer for sure, but he is a genius that should create, but not manage a creation.
Since I have owned 3 cars on list since 2012, I am completing my claim. The amounts are between $200 to $1200 per affected vehicle.
This pertains to the diesel gate scandal and related to sport mode programming that was out of the emission limits claimed.
I would not fret too much about it. Many of the early issues have been resolved. After a year of ownership (RWD), the recurring annoyance I experience is the how long it sometimes takes satellite radio to load and play. Other than than, no recurring issues that cause me doubt my decision.
I have noticed that a few times I have felt warm in the car. I don't use the ECO AC mode only AC. When I looked down to adjust the temp cooler, I noticed the ECO AC was on. I don't how unless changing modes is the culprit. If you didn't know the ECO AC exists, perhaps it turned on and you didn't...
