I also believe the US (in particular the coasts) are much more into the hype and lore of start up culture and the glorious leaders behind them…and there is pride for Tesla being a start up darling from the US etc etc….
Yea I personally thought they nailed it with that ad! I also think for a tagline, “Soul. Electrified” isn’t too shabby. It means Porsche stirs your soul, and even the electric version. It positions then well for their differentiation against their Tesla competition, which lacks “soul” (IMO)...
The US market is more and more driven by the “digital first”, technocrati… younger demographics enjoy the gaming culture influenced cars T is making. They are likely starting to view driving as more analogous to real life gaming with the all screen interfaces and high tech features…
Yes, agreed, the ubiquity of Tesla’s dissuades me from wanting one…although I’m very thankful they have helped propel the electric car market so far forwards!
