Macan EV appears to have single speed transmission, unlike Taycan

Smart remark! -when marketing meets facts…

Taycan efficiency vs VW ID7 … can it be true?

No. As you know I have no original thought at all. You are the most clever man I have ever seen and the only one here who has an original thought. I hope the above statement is good enough to you to live me alone, simple comment your original thoughts without mentioning me. Thank you.

Taycan efficiency vs VW ID7 … can it be true?

I am using now 3 electric cars Tesla 3 Performance, BMW i4 40 and Taycan GTS. Taycan is the only one that keeps up the acceleration curve nicely at higher speeds. Differences Taycan/i4 and TM3P are 400V/800V and 1-speed/2-speed. I can accept that if the reason is something else, just tell it...

Taycan efficiency vs VW ID7 … can it be true?

How does ZF's two-speed EV transmission work? ZF's universal drive unit, offering a turn-key drivetrain for manufacturers looking to develop a mainstream EV, incorporates a 140kW electric motor and, crucially, a game-changing two-speed gearbox. At low speeds and in stop-start traffic, an...

Taycan efficiency vs VW ID7 … can it be true?

I really enjoy the advantage of a 2-speed gearbox above of 110km/h when for example my TM3P starts to loose the acceleration dynamics. Taycan keeps up nicely and progressively, able to reproducing ICE style acceleration curve up to the high ends. For me it is key for a sports car being electric...

Latest Porsche survey about "Luxury Charging Experiences"

Just can confirm it. Doing frequent road trips via/to Austria and Germany making annual ca. 40k km-s with our 2 electric cars, but ultra fast DC chargers are available on each 100-150 km on highways, availability (how many/total) is permanently shown on the dash and find 99% working properly...

    911 to Taycan?

Switched from a 991.2 C4 daily to Taycan GTS daily. Maybe I loved a bit more the 911 but enjoy the Taycan more all together. The reason is that, driving Taycan slow/traffic/bad roads still a joy. Driving 911 on these conditions is a continuous "hold back" that is frustrating. Since roads are...

    Taycan Prices vs. Competition

I still like it at its own class. No quality issue at all after 85t km, like a new. My Taycan is much better but for almost 3 times higher price. Value per money Tesla is still great.

    Taycan Prices vs. Competition

Price increase is all around, especially in the premium/luxury segment. Tesla is going down with prices as moving out from the premium category (maybe never should be there) to the mid class mass product cars. Our BMW i4 MS has been ordered in September, waiting time is still around a year...

Mercedes EQE looks better than EQS

Not a fan of the side view as well after seeing some stationary videos. The design is falling apart heir totally with a lot of triangles in different sizes and shapes on the window area. It is clearly an ugly looking car similarly to EQS. Additionally the back is a simple copy of Audi/Porsche...

Mercedes EQE looks better than EQS

Different car for different people. I can't see anything to compare. It is a luxury limousine inside and out Taycan is a sports car. I wouldn't say it is bad, but "hardcore" Porsche buyer would newer swap for a car like this. From a Porsche point of view for me it is irrelevant.

If you’re bored sometime - go test drive a Model 3

Yeah, lot of cons and pros... I own a Tesla Model 3 Performance for 1,5 years/41,000km. Had together with a Porsche 911C4 991.2 and BMW M140i. I used 90% the Tesla, so sold the 911 and waiting for the Taycan GTS release (missing the Porsche feeling). I never felt cheap the Tesla next to the...
