Good post and I would agree with most of this. The PCM thing is spot on. Sometimes I want to press a damn button or at least get some haptic feedback. The Tesla obsession with having almost everything on a touch screen is exactly what you expect from a company that has software rather than car...
Have you test driven the car? That sold it for me coming from a 2017 Model S 75D and going to a 2022 Taycan 4S. I don't want to diminish the problems that people have experienced but I think many of these have been ironed out with updates, especially on the MY22. I had two issues and both of...
Couple of things I learned from picking up my car:
1. although I took a USB c cable, the car was supplied with one in the frunk. My dealer set my phone up for wireless car play and the wireless charging also works so technically you don’t even need the USB c cable if everything else works
2...
Well, let me put it this way: if you don't, the points you just mentioned about your Tesla aren't relevant any more and therefore not worth mentioning.
There's an irony in there.
If you aren't disappointed, I stand corrected about the point you will be disappointed for the wrong reasons.
But...
I’ve been reasonably happy with my S and have put up with the crappy interior because the software is simply ahead of any other car I’ve been in. OTA updates, mobile service at home, and the AP with lane changing and freeway changing is very reliable. I am not a fan of Musk’s lying but I will...
Yeah I think your post triggered a couple of strong reactions! I think my attitude as an ex Tesla owner will be similar to the attitude of an ex smoker i.e. becoming the strongest critic
I probably need to use the carpool on my own 2-3 times per month. I rarely have anyone else in my car at times when I need the carpool. So I think I will definitely apply for the stickers but won't apply them. Thanks!
For those of you who live in the US and get to use the HOV/car pool lane in an EV, this is something else I would check with your dealer prior to picking up the car.
Pro tip - you are supposed to stick these ugly stickers on your rear bumper area, I've never done it in the 4 years of owning a...
Not sure if you’ve had the opportunity to sit in a Tesla or go on a long drive. Comfort is maybe a 4 versus a 9 or 10 for the Porsche. That’s before you start driving the thing. I made the mistake of test driving the Taycan with no intention to buy for a few years. It only took about 5 mins of...
I bought a model S 4 years ago and they were offering FSD at that time. To be fair to the sales lady, she told me it wasn't likely to be ready and she didn't push it at all. Since then, he's offered it at a deep discount 2-3 times (I think 3-4k vs 7k or similar). Unethical at best.
