I am an ex Taycan 4S owner and current Ford Mach-e GT owner.
I text drove the GV60 Performance model. Here are my quick thoughts:
Exterior looks: so-so
Interior looks: good
Interior space: More than the Taycan, especially the rear seat. Smaller than the Ford. Smaller trunk and tiny frunk...
After owning a Taycan 4s for 10 months and a Ford MME GT for 6 months, I would certainly pick the MME GT with Perf package (Magnaride suspension) over a base RWD Taycan.
Between a 4S and a MME GT then it is harder to pick. Both cars have about the same power for daily driving. The MME is a more...
The Mach-e GT with Performance package has the MagnaRide suspension which is very good. If you get a Mach-E consider that one.
I couldn't find one in stock and I did not want to wait 7 months.
I am considering ordering one and trade my current GT when the new one arrives but I might wait to see...
I never had a hardware failure but I experienced a fair number of software bugs. One day it threw 5 different yellow messages and turtle light and it wouldn't move. Lock for 15 mins and restart fixed the issue. That was after AMB5, so the issue with the Computer Engine issue that results in...
Quick update after driving the Mach-e GT even more.
The GT clearly wins in terms of daily practically and its infotainment technology seems better so far. I saw one bug with the trip computer but the Taycan had more bugs and more serious ones.
There are several small things that make the daily...
I think you confuse with the other Chris also in the Bay Area who had serious issues and Porsche is not buying his car back. I had annoyances but not very serous issues like his.
Anyway, I will probably update my review after I experience the Mach-e longer. The Macan EV is in my radar as well...
You can set a pincode and use instead (there is a pinpad at the door and you can also turn on the car with the pin), so that's the backup. Other owners say that Phone as a key is still not on par with Tesla so we will see. I don't mind carrying the keyfob.
Thanks!
Practicality and half the cost to own for a car that I don't drive much were certainly factors. But if wasn't for all the rattles and software bugs I would have probably kept it. This is also after owning a Macan with many serious problems at the third year of ownership and Porsche NA...
@daveo4EV I would be happy to join the next Bay Area drive if you guys are willing to accept a poor Ford in your group :) .
Maybe we can do a range test and check Plug and Charge at EA.
My 2020 Taycan 4S with P+ battery has found a new home and I moved to a 2021 Ford Mach-e GT.
Here are my thoughts and comparison of these two cars
The comparison is based on my experience with my cars, and it does not apply to all Taycans and all Mach-es, or all owners.
Taycan wins these...
Since this thread is for Polestar 2, out of curiosity I browsed a Polestar forum yesterday. It seems they started OTA updates around February and it didn't go well so they postponed it for a few months. Some owners still cannot successfully install the updates and have to go to the dealer. But...
Everyones situation is different. I had a 2017 X3 and a 2015 M235i and they were both perfect with no issues during lease interval. Excellent cars.
On the other hand, my Macan had oil leaks from 3 different places, that were never properly addressed plus three other electrical issues. My...
How was the ownership (not driving experience)? Any software or reliability issues? Did OTA updates deliver important fixes? If you had to take the car for service did they provide a loaner?
At $70k I would prefer to wait for the BMW i4 M50 which will have better performance and better brand appeal.
You can also find a few Ford Mach-e GTs at around 70k (61-65kMSRP + markup).
I recently looked for a second car and Mach-e is marked up, Toyota Rav4 Prime, Audi Q5e and BMW X3 plug-in...
On paper it sounds better but we don't know if the materials and design of the Lucid motor will stand the test of time i.e. what would be it reliability and life expectancy.
Ford Mach-e GT and BMW i4 M50i (despite the ugly face) are on my list for when I replace they Taycan . Neither has the brand appeal of a Porsch but they offer about the same performance and range as my Taycan 4S for 60% of the price.
Ford seems to be resolving the early issues with their first...
