For what it’s worth, my PMCC pigtail was replaced for a second time just a month ago. The new pigtail has a better heat sensor according to the SA.
I don’t use this device at all, but I do carry it in my car. Not as small as other portable level two chargers, of course but hey! I already own it.
You should be able to switch back and get 9.6kw charging. There is a new temperature sensor in the pigtail they replaced that will cause the charging to stop if temperature in the cord or connector exceeds a safety threshold.
An interesting video, but my takeaways are somewhat different --
The Cost of Tech in New Cars -- It is clearly more expensive to build cars today, but the tech required by governments goes into cars ranging from Hondas, Kias, Toyotas, Teslas, Fords, GM, Volkswagens, up to the high-end luxury...
As new EVs come on the market it makes sense to give them a look. However, after owning my Taycan 4s for almost 4 years, I’ve come to these conclusions about what is most important to me —
I want the following items in terms of driving experience.
Excellent acceleration and torque...
I agree completely. I've had the HV heater issue, but other than that my only visits to the dealer for my 2021 Taycan 4s have been mundane software updates. Of course I wish those were OTA, but honestly it hasn't been a hassle.
Best car I've ever owned ?
@whitex, @daveo4EV & @WasserGKuehlt -- Given your backgrounds I'm interested your thoughts on a secondary article referenced in the mentioned in the article above about Porsche possibly moving to Google Software for it's PCM systems in the future.
Good idea/bad idea? Would this eliminate the...
Am I the only one who finds the articles use of the phrase "absorbent markups" ridiculous?

absorbent paper towels. porous, spongy, sponge-like, permeable, pervious, absorptive, penetrable, assimilative, receptive, soaking, blotting; technical spongiform; rare sorbefacient...
This aligns nicely with the Porsche Columbus price of $26,343.90 + $3,500 labor = $29,843.90 (~$30k) that you posit above.
Perhaps someone on the Forum has some first hand data they can share, but $30k seems reasonable to me.
I've wondered that myself. While not definitive, it appears that the price for a Porsche ICE engine rebuild would be in the range of $10k-$20k for a Cayman or Boxster, or $15k-$30k for a 911 series, but this doesn't always include removal and reinstallation costs. (see link & link).

Did you guys see this article about the rust problem with Tesla Trucks?

With the prices on CPO Taycans falling into a reasonable range, you might want to consider looking at a used Taycan as a way to bring your cost down.
Of course, that assumes you are comfortable with the Taycan and only are concerned about the cost. I’m also assuming you would compare the CPO...
Not a Porsche, but an interesting concept for what the future might look like for RVs. Whether you like it or hate it, I think the move to electrification will bring many new concepts for transportation and lodging.
I sort of agree with you, but with a caveat. I plan to purchase my wife's Lexus RX hybrid off lease in March and hold onto it until I get clarity about the Macan EV, AND about access to the Tesla SuC network. Might end up keeping it until 2025, but the Macan EV is a contender in my mind.
I...
