Mercedes locks faster acceleration behind a yearly $1,200 subscription - The Verge

It was pretty egregious IMHO when they locked rear wheel steering behind a paywall, seems they’re going ever further in the same direction

Watch collectors - let's talk watches here!

The Sea-Dweller is a chunky boy. But at least you’d be getting a Rolex at retail. If it doesn’t fit your wrist I suppose you could flip it without taking a hit? Would buying the watch bump you up on a waitlist at the AD for a Sub?

I think we can all get behind him leaving for Mars.

Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

I don't think the Lucid looks bad, maybe the C pillar could use a little work. Plenty of uglier EV's out there than the Air.

    BMW i7

I guess you could make it work if you walked to and from the car with your eyes closed…

Traded Taycan 4 CT for EQS 450 4Matic SUV

Agree with this to an extreme degree. And it’s not like Mercedes doesn’t know how to build good-looking cars, just look at some of their coupés. I wish they’d let their EVs take a few .01’s of a hit in the Cd value and made them look a little sportier.

    BMW I4 M50 test drive

Sounds good - hopefully BMW can resist the call of the beaver teeth for that one.

Would you trade your Taycan for a Rolls-Royce Spectre?

It doesn’t look as ugly as I was expecting. I mean, it does still look pretty ugly.

So it is possible for an interior to have too much alcantara. Huh.

Man discovers $80K truck takes 4 days to charge at home - Links

It’s like trying to fill up an ICE car’s tank with a pipette and then blaming the car because it takes too long…

Should I trade in my Taycan 4S for an Aston Martin Vantage? (pics)

It won’t be a goodbye as we know you’ll be back. ;)

Input Needed - Taycan trade in for RS6

Sacrilege - you just told an American to get rid of their pickup truck… :lipssealed:

Input Needed - Taycan trade in for RS6

Going from an EV Porsche to an ICE Audi seems to me like a backwards move. But if it is a dream car for you then all logical arguments are irrelevant and the decision can only be one based on emotion

Dodge Banshee (Charger Daytona SRT EV)

Not a huge fan of the whole muscle car ethos, but if this can move the Overton window further towards EV adoption among that crowd, I’d welcome it with open arms. ?

Are we helping in the fight against climate change or just indulging our love of toys (er technology)?

Agreed. I’m not a big fan of that Elon guy, but without Tesla the legacy brands would still probably be dragging their feet with regard to the EV transition.

Are we helping in the fight against climate change or just indulging our love of toys (er technology)?

Agreed! I think it should also be without controversy to say that carbon dioxide is the main culprit of anthropogenic global warming. Maybe it’s the fault of misinformation or contrarianism that this isn’t the case.

Looks pretty cool on the track too.

    Taycan v Hyundai Ioniq 6

Got to mention this here, I know it's just a concept vehicle but it looks way rad and the idea of a hydrogen-EV hybrid drive train sounds interesting. Hyundai N Vision 74 https://jalopnik.com/the-hyundai-n-vision-74-is-hydrogen-powered-perfection-1849182245
