    Tesla Price Drop

When exiting a roundabout? Exit to the right in a left hairpin in the mountains. Maybe Elon tested the Yoke on BMW drivers they don’t use the indicator anyway (from a 15 year bmw driver)

    Tesla Price Drop

Just had a look. Model S plaid is 110.000 euro. 20.000 decrease in price. Long range is 95.000 this is 40.000 euro less than my 4 CT. I really like my car but 40 K is a lot of money. When I made the decision two years ago for this price I would probably have bought the model S. Also has air...

    [Perspective] - A happy Taycan owner road trip’s his Daughter’s Model Y…

Interesting. Porsche and even VW are not big enough to create a network of SC like Tesla did out of nothing. VW is currently having trouble keeping its head above water because of some bad EV decisions. Second: do we want every company to create their own SC network? It would be more practical...

    [Perspective] - A happy Taycan owner road trip’s his Daughter’s Model Y…

I have been using Tesla super chargers for more than a year in Europe. Availability is great. Some 30-40 charger facilities. However charging speed is reduced for non Tesla’s. They are not on the highway and twice as expensive as Ionity. For me it is usually a backup when other chargers are...

I have experienced this too. Never had more than 100 kW at Tesla.

    [Perspective] - A happy Taycan owner road trip’s his Daughter’s Model Y…

My neighbor just purchased a model Y. He was worried about long distance trips and I told him he made the correct choice. about the super chargers. I don’t know why it takes so long for Porsche to connect. If charge my Taycan an Tesla, I park, plug in, chose the stall in the app and charging...

Why do so many people want a Taycan to be more like Tesla?

The only thing I would like is the Tesla way of route planning and charging on the road. Just did a longer trip. Everything was fine because of my planning but could have been worse.

Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

Yes they should all be like the last onenor the one you describe. Thats the charger in Arlon. 40 stalls and many 250Kw. Perfect and reliable charger location on the way to France. Ionity did some improvement in the region too installing a 18 charger facilty around Metz.

Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

I know mate. Same in the rest of Europe. I didn’t say they were occupied. I said that some charger configuration are less compatible with the Taycan for the allowed parking position. Elon’s instructions are clear and mention that if the car can’t be parked in the intended way the charger can’t...

Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

Not all of them have a chargign cable length and position that is compatible with the Taycan. With some charging is only possible by occupying 3 spots. And officially you can’t do. If most chargers are free and you stay around your car and move if necessary it won’t be a problem probably.

Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

Anyone seen the PUMP app? I just discovered this app again. It has a very nice way of showing the chargers along the way. It shows the planned chargers and how much are free and the charger speed. But if you zoom on the route you can also see the ones directly on the chosen route. When selected...

Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

I did a short trip in the UK recently. Fast chargers were ok. 11/22 Kw destination chargers were a disaster in my short experience. If you get them to work it may be a solution. The optional 22 Kw chargers will give you around 50% SoC in 2 hours. charging the Taycan is very fast. Charging 30...

Noobie Taycan Owner ...immediate long Road Trip .... Advice sought....

I would do that trip in two or three days and book some nice hotels along the way. 450-500 miles per day is enough for me personally. In the beginning I planned to arrive at chargers with 25% range left to be shure I could reach the next one. Have driven more than a year and knowing the...

Moloughney: real world highway range of EVs - Article

That is interesting. For long drives things can be completely different for different cars. And charge speed is just as important as range. A longer range just gets you further on the first charge. After that the diffenrce is reduced because only 70% SoC is used between charges. And a bigger...

Moloughney: real world highway range of EVs - Article

I read an interesting article on this subject. Driving 110 kmh in stead of 135 for longer trips won’t make the trip faster unless it prevents an extra charging session. The car that drives 135 kmh to a charge stop at 270 km will take 2 hours the one that drives 110 will take 25 minutes longer...

Please help! Let’s imagine the new Macan EV comes out in 2 versions...

Just did some reading. The ZEEKR is being prepared for the European markets. The name is rather unfortunate for the Dutch speaking market. Sound like Zeiker which is not something you want to associate your brand with. On paper it does look nice

Please help! Let’s imagine the new Macan EV comes out in 2 versions...

Fast charging and available chargers are more important than a really long range. With 1000 km real range, highway 130 km/h 10 degrees Celsius outside. I would be able to cover most of my trips. That would be nice. I would need a stop anyway and could recharge. But 1000 km range will...

Traveling to Zurich and Zermatt, Switzerland this Summer

I have never been to Zermatt. Just make sure things are open in summer. We went hiking in Courchevel in the summer and most shops and restaurants were closed. Deserted town. Last year we went to Flims / Laax and everything was open and prepared for summer tourists. Luzern is also a nice little...

Taycan 4S Cross Turismo or Mode 3 Long Range?

I had an X5 before that a bit wider. You could try to park that in your garage. And I would glue some rubber to your wall. The soft stop might be a safer, cheaper and easier solution. Surround camera view may also be a good option. Good luck with your choice
