Gang of EQSs at Lost Hills

perhaps it is better to get a better efficiency from the drive train, than larger batteries. That would increase the weight. Or with new battery technology you could reduce battery and save even more weight! I am sure there will be some optimising done for weight, battery capacity, drive train...

    Aston Martin

I have a DB9 Volante (cabriolet). V12 naturally aspirated with a gorgeous sound from the exhaust. It is from 2010 so it does need some time to wake up before starting it, else the drivers display can light up like a Christmas tree. :). Paintwork is fantastic with no Orange peel in sight. And...

Interesting video on EV Track day.

This is quite a good and fun video to watch about an EV only track day. Would like to do it in the Twizzy though. Surprised at the Taycan comments about understeer. And horrible Tyre wear!

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

But you have sent photos of so many excellent Chinese cars just recently. Surely there must be one that you can choose from. If you are so displeased with the S, just sell it and be done with it. Pick up something simple or Just buy one of the fantastic Chinese Cars.

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

We are all aware of the fact that you do not like Tesla. And you have clearly stated that when you blamed a dodgy electrical installation of your charger, on Tesla design. So maybe there is a similar fact behind it, when it comes to judging your S 90?

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

I agree with you that the Tesla Forums have detoriated completely. There used to be good information and help there in the beginning with model 3 in 2019. Not so now. But the car is very good. And the fact was that you kept your car for 8 years and that tells a positive story. And have a look...

Will you test drive the Mercedes EQS?

@feye yes Ionity network is rolling out quite well, but not enough to really be able to go from the Italian border to Bordeaux or Calais in the best way. They are nearing their target of 400 places soon, but there are a lot of gaps unfortunately. At least for the routes that I am travelling. I...

Will you test drive the Mercedes EQS?

I will absolutely have a test drive in the EQS. Long range suits my use case very well, but the Achilles heel is the Ionity charging network. I like the range and consumption but am very hesitant about the looks, colour scheme and size. It looks like a boat and the two tone colours are not my...

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

I need to try this on a longer road trip then. I tried it on a trip of about 125 km, but the car had been standing in the sun and was quite warm inside when I started. It was about 28 to 30 degrees C and sunny with the sun straight above. And it was humid as well, because the car left a large...

For the acceleration, without putting the Taycan in launch mode, it still feels faster and certainly much more planted and stable. I have tried it on French motorways a few times, but you really are up in speeds that quickly will provide you accommodation with iron bar curtains! Not that I ever...

Thanks, Yes I am aware of that I can set the AC separately. I did not find it so useful with Range mode in general, so have just left the settings in either Sport mode or Normal mode. The car lowers anyhow when the speed is in excess of 100 km/h or so.

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

I can give you some hints of what my experience has been. My model 3P is now 2 years and a bit in age and has just under 20k km on the clock. As I have said before it is really not fair to compare these two cars, the Taycan is 3 times the price of my Model3P. And I am aware of that Tesla have...

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

I have read this from the beginning now and am a bit amazed at some of the comments. Why are people not more appreciative of the development Tesla have done. I do not think any other manufacturer is even close to the overall usability of a Tesla. Yes I own a Model3 performance and a Taycan Turbo...

Tesla Model S Plaid catches fire

That sounds incorrect. As stated above Model3, Y and now S have a mechanical door opener, but looks like that only is for the front doors. I would think that the Plaid that caught fire used that lever.

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

No they are not slow here. For the Tesla M3 I think he new ones V3, it is up to 250kW. But they are running at 400 volt so YES the 150 kW option might come in handy. And charging at 150 kW is actually not slow. For a charge from 10 % to 80% it might take a few minutes extra, but not any more...

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

That is where we have a great advantage here in Europe. If there should be an Ionity, Allego or Fastned or other HPC station beside Tesla, we just move over to it. It might be more expensive to charge but having the CCS2 connector makes the choice greater. Now if we also could get the...

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

Let us wait and see the reviews from the press, once the Plaid car is delivered. @daveo4EV , that were a few surprisingly good comments from an experienced track driver. Interesting to follow, but will not influence my choice. But it will certainly raise the bar for other EV’s to be launched...

Car & Driver: 4S vs. Tesla MS LR+

Even more interesting was TeslaBjörns trip to the Arctic circle. About 1000 km trip where the E-torn GT came out as the fastest car to do that trip yet. Due to a very fast charging speed. Faster than a Tesla Model3 . And tesla probably have a better charging network in Norway

Model 3 vs. Taycan Turbo S Track Race

I do not understand what you are trying to prove with this Picture? Would be more interesting to see how that cable is connected under the charger lid. Probably with the same connections and screws! I have my whole house with its fuse boxes and housings prepared with connections with screws at...

Model 3 vs. Taycan Turbo S Track Race

Not an equipment fault!! This is a serious bad workmanship by not tightening the screws to specified torque. I you look at the top of the picture you will see exactly the same installation done in the fuse box. We all know you have something against Tesla, but this Is not a Tesla fault.
