There is a you tuber in Norway that does exactly this 1000 km challenges, Björn Nyland. He has done 1000 km with many different EV’s and has some nice spreadsheets summarising the results. He does it all year around as well. Intesting to read his spreadsheets as welll as to see how he charges...
I would like to have that range available. Not for normal day yo day trips I agree. But if you would go for a trip to go skiing in the north of Sweden for instance, there are NO HPC chargers. And the North East of France is no better. I agree with the view that for a trip you would not go more...
The ear end of the car. Front looks fine but after the B pillar the designer seems to have given up the will to live. And nobody has shown any space in the back. Wonder if this more is a 2plus2. Rear seating seems very cramped.
No thanks
No if you feel like you want to drive a limousine or being driven in one, the car is fantastic. But then I guess your driver will be driving so you are very comfortable. And it is super quiet! Probably one of the best and safest cars to be driven (driving) in.
There is a reason why the S-class...
I am surprised that Diess is staying in the role. He is a marionette now. The Unions did not like the message, but that will not change the future. Once Tesla gets their factory in Berlin going it will be brutal for VW and others. Anybody that needs three times the hours to produce one car is...
Is it fair to say that it drives like a boat?? I mean you need to compare it to a ICE S-class, and not to a Taycan or Audi. The target market for the EQS surely is the same that would like to have a S-class. And that also drives like a boat?
From a navigation point of view, using Waze or Google maps is superb. The maps are up to date as well as all the traffic information. The only slight draw back is that the car will not pre heat the battery before going to a HPC, when driving on a longer road trip. But driving the car might heat...
Completely agree with your conclusion. The Chinese EV companies are the ones to watch. They are launching quite a number of vehicles at this moment, so it will be interesting to see.
The sad thing is that Diess at VW has fully understood this. And then to see and hear that he is under scrutiny...
Might leave you speechless, ok. But I liked the look of the mission e, I believed the marketing hype that they had run the car x million miles before launch and fell for it. Only myself to blame. I nearly, very nearly , bought an original Tesla Roadster, but did not dare to do that at that...
I am not interested directly in a Lucid car, and I do not know if they will be on sale in France either.
But I would consider any new EV from Us or elsewhere (not China for other reasons) instead of an ICE manufacturer. As stated somewhere else the legacy ICE builders will have huge problems...
Yes I know. But my average was achieved by driving on French motorways that did not have heavy traffic, so little acceleration needed. The legal speed limit is 130 km/h (82 miles per hour). Stop about every 1 hour 45 minutes or so to stretch legs, coffee and charging. Saw very little benefit in...
I can agree with point no 1 if you use the car for daily driving and charge every night at home. Larger battery will be able to drive for longer.
point 2 I have no facts about Tesla other than a model 3 performance and absolutely nothing for the Air. But the Taycan beats my model 3 hands down...
