Hi everyone,

If all goes to plan, I’ll be taking delivery of my custom-configured Cayenne Electric at the end of November. A few highlights of my spec include SportDesign, rear-axle steering, Sport Chrono, 18-way adaptive sports seats and the variable-transparency panoramic roof. As delivery gets closer, I’d love to hear your advice and experiences.

I’ve been driving an Audi Q8 e-tron for the past three years, so I’m already familiar with owning a large premium electric SUV, including charging routines and planning longer journeys. I’m particularly interested in Porsche-specific tips and the little things you discover through everyday ownership.

Anything you’d recommend checking at delivery, settings worth adjusting straight away, useful accessories or features that are easy to overlook? What made you think, “I wish someone had told me this beforehand”?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

The number one lesson from my recent e cayenne collection: don't dash out in your excitement to drive the car - insist on all the key user options being demo'd and set up before you leave, including PorscheID and phone key set up, with physical keys connected to your user profile. I spent hours with ChatGPT and still didn't know half of the functionality that was available to me. As an ex Tesla driver, the masses of hidden customisation came as a real surprise, and things like the car auto-unlocking with the phone key as you walk towards it, whilst not then auto unlocking as you walk away (unless you've configured it to do that) . . . . came as quite a shock. To be fair to Porsche, I have been offered a "Porsche pro" session at my convenience, but I should have spent 30 mins more with the handover team before I drove away.
