I have to agree that Porsche loses a big part of it's appeal compared to other brands in the EV world because of the lack of an ICE. For a sportscar, other than a supercar like a Ferrari or Lambo, the Porsche has the best sound and feel of any car on the planet. Engine, steering, brakes...
This EV situation is not good for Porsche. I just visited my dealer and there were ZERO 2025 Taycans on the floor, and just one 2024. They said they haven't been able to sell a single EV Macan. This is one of the largest dealers in the midwest... ?
I have to agree with Porsche's strategy - some good discussion here.
EV's vs PHEV's - what makes sense in the next 10 years?
Overall, I think Porsche and all German automakers are in trouble. The Germans have a well-earned reputation of making the best drivers cars in the world. The 'driving...
If I drive 55 mph on my regular freeway commute, I'll be a hazard to traffic. Everyone is going 65+, so imagine trying to drive in a situation where your only option to change lanes if you're blocked is to brake. It's not speed that kills, it's speed differential. Maneuvering around a vehicle...
I can't believe I spent three minutes listening to text and looking at pictures and came away just slightly less intelligent than when I started...
I will agree with everything here, other than the seats. I really like the Taycan 18 way seats. I don't think the braking confidence has anything to do with the quality of the brakes, but more about the extra 1,000 lbs you're stopping in the Taycan. But for handling and ride comfort, the...
I'm not sure what you're saying about the 'downside' of the GTS vs your Sport Turismo 4S. The GTS should be equal or better in pretty much every way. Did you have active damping and air suspension on the 4S?
I drove my Panamera GTS for over 100K miles, and it was the best car I've ever had - until my Turbo S. Now, I will give the Turbo S many black marks for reliability, but partly that is my fault for buying one of the first in the US. I'm not sure why you say the Panamera is a better cruiser...
If you've test driven both cars, go with the one that you enjoy the most. If you enjoy the GTS more, then spend the $25K. I've never met anyone who's bought a car they really love, and regretted how much they spent.
We have officially entered the land of the absurd. An SUV that runs a sub 11 second quarter mile?? While being '...all over the place...' with the steering...:whew:
My comment was not relative to a single car, but the Japanese auto industry in the 50's and 60's. Overall, the Japanese car industry suffered tremendously in the 1950's and 60's from very poor quality and reliability. You can read all sorts of articles etc. on this, and much of their...
