So both are electric cars, but that is where the comparison should end.....one is a sports sedan and the other is a hyper sports car.
If you were talking of ICE cars, would you compare the Lexus GS F sports sedan to the Porsche 911 Turbo.....of course not, unless you just have not yet decided...
I think you are right. Since last post, I did find information from Porsche. The reference area (A in the formula, the front section of vehicle ) of the Turbo and Turbo S are the same 2.33 m. squared, meaning only the f (drag force aka air resistance) is what varies.......speculating...
I don't see the point of your post, other than to be argumentative as The Snape was completely accurate in his observation. Clearly, if the Tesla redesigned the (2012) Model S design, to be more sportier in the front, then the cars drag co-efficient would be reduced. But Tesla is a practical...

Actually, its Drag Times ia the one that debunks the Top Gear competition. Watch the video from Drag Times My guess is that the TEsla driver forgot to put the car in launch control and thought...
well.....my first impression of the video from Top Gear was that it seemed to pro Porsche, like a public relations ploy sponsored by Porsche......now people are saying that the Tesla was not in launch control mode based on what was visible on the Tesla dash screen, which of course would be...
I had the 1998 Porsche 911.....the only Porsche I was HAPPY to get rid of. EVERY time I stepped in that vehicle, something didnt work.....The biggest lemon ever! They say those were the last "hand built" Porsches before "fully" automated assembly.....Thanks for automation!!! The next...
Everyone keeps bragging about the Tesla battery technology. But if the batteries continue to overheat and effect the performance of the vehicle, how can anyone say Tesla has better battery technology. I even watch videos saying because Tesla has the cylindrical packets rather than square...
An interesting closing commentary in German in the video.....The drivers Alex and Albert try the race over and over, and the distance between the Porsche and the Tesla get larger and larger with each race. I wish they would publish the stats on each race.
To me the slalom runs are the ultimate test of a REAL sports car, as it shows the handling of the car. Its nice to have rapid acceleration, which any vehicle under 4.5 seconds will feel impressive, but doing a slalom, or driving on a super curvy mountain road with 90 to 180 degree switchbacks...
They say a picture paints a thousand words....so how about a video clip

See the video clip of the Taycan driving...
Ummmm
uuuuuhmmmmmm.....the Red one then couldn't even finish the laps....LOL
Two things:
1). How did Tesla run the whole lap? On Touristenfahrten days and Track days, drivers are only allowed to drive 11.9 miles of the 12.94 mile track....unless somehow they got an acception?
2). On...
Competition is great! and fun to watch the developments....Competition will make both companies produce better vehicles and bring attention to how great electric cars are!
Well.....Tesla ran a stripped down prototype, not an actual production vehicle. I speculate that the automatic...
EXACTLY. Ironically, I just bought the wife a Gucci bag for her birthday yesterday, and she hates Coach, the luxury brand wannabe........so that comparison is EXACTLY to the point.....the Tesla was specifically designed to be a vehicle for the masses. The Porsche is an EXCLUSIVE vehicle for...
Doing the 1-200 has the purpose to show sports car enthusiast that the Taycan is a TRUE sports sedan, one that can truly sustain its ability to perform.
I am also a BIG Tesla AND Porsche fan. I have owned 5 Porsches, but no Tesla yet, although I have driven them. I WILL replace my aging...
